Are you worried about wrinkles and fine lines? This night routine will help you prevent and reduce them with some of my favorite cosmetics of brands like Paula’s Choice, The Ordinary or Medik8. Keeping your skin young, healthy and beautiful is in your hands, discover these skincare products with me and choose the best ones!
Hello! A few days ago I shared with you my night routine to prevent the appearance of skin spots. As I told you in that same article, I am currently alternating between that routine and the one that I am going to show you today. Thus, I can prevent the appearance of spots, wrinkles and fine lines, which make up my main concerns in relation to my skin.
As you can see in this same routine, it is developed around a retinal serum (a form of retinoids, about which you can read much more here). Since these types of ingredients are potentially irritating, I combine it with other products that help me keep my skin calm and balanced.
Specifically, the products I have included in this skincare routine to prevent wrinkles are the following:
- The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser.
- Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel.
- I’m From Rice Toner.
- Paula’s Choice Niacinamide 10% Booster.
- Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3.
- Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer.
- Nuxe Rêve de Miel Balm.
1. THE ORDINARY SQUALANE CLEANSER.
You know that double cleansing is, for me, the only viable way to start a night routine. By using a first, oil-based, cleanser, we properly remove makeup, sunscreen, and other oil-soluble particles in a gentle but highly effective way.
In this case, as I told you in its product review, The Ordinary have developed a cleanser that at first has a lotion-like texture and, when applied, it turns into a cleansing oil. It is a very comfortable and effective product, you will surely love it.
You can get The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser on DECIEM (recommended), on Amazon, and on SkinStore.
2. REN EVERCALM GENTLE CLEANSING GEL.
Using mild cleansers is essential to keep our skin well balanced. Sometimes we think that a cleanser is only effective if it is almost abrasive, but our skin does not work that way.
This Ren cleanser (of which you can read my full review) has a great texture, very soft and comfortable. It has the ideal balance of effectiveness and respect with our skin barrier, so you can use it morning and night without feeling excessive.
You can find the Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel on Amazon and on FeelUnique.
3. I’M FROM RICE TONER.
You already know that the main function of the toner is to provide our skin with greater hydration in order to ensure that the following products in our skincare routine are better absorbed (and therefore more effective).
This toner by I’m From (you can read its complete review here) incorporates a large proportion of rice extract. Although the brand affirms that it can help improve the luminosity of our skin, I have not observed a great difference in this aspect, but it is one of the toners with the best texture that I have used and provides great hydration.
You can get the I’m From Rice Toner on Wishtrend, on Yesstyle, and on Amazon.
4. PAULA’S CHOICE NIACINAMIDE 10% BOOSTER.
If you know me, you will know that niacinamide is one of my favorite skincare ingredients. Among its properties we can find that it helps to rebalance oil levels and reduce redness, while reducing melanin production (something especially useful if you have skin spots or want to prevent their appearance).
In this case, Paula’s Choice has developed a niacinamide serum with a magnificent texture. It is more liquid and watery than other niacinamide serums that I have used, which provides better absorption and, in general, the sensations when applying it are better.
And why do I incorporate niacinamide in this skincare routine? Because, as I explain in my guide on retinoids, it helps facilitate their absorption, thus enhancing their effects and indirectly helping to prevent the appearance of wrinkles when using retinoids (as in this very routine).
You can get the Paula’s Choice Niacinamide 10% Booster on Paula’s Choice, on Niche Beauty and on Amazon.
5. MEDIK8 CRYSTAL RETINAL 3.
I recently shared my review of this Medik8 serum. Retinoids are my favorite ingredient for reducing (and preventing) wrinkles and fine lines. This is achieved through greater cell turnover and by repairing the damaged collagen and elastin fibers (responsible for keeping our skin smooth and elastic).
In this case, Medik8 has developed a very effective serum that is not irritating at all (something very important, especially considering that one of the main side effects of using retinoids is the irritation they cause). Although I recommend starting to use retinoids with milder products, this is a great intermediate solution.
You can get the Medik8 Crystal Retinal serum on Amazon.
6. PAULA’S CHOICE OMEGA+ COMPLEX MOISTURIZER.
When we use retinoids, our skin tends to get drier, so it is essential to use a good moisturizer that provides us with the necessary ingredients to preserve the balance of our skin barrier.
As I mentioned in the review of this Paula’s Choice moisturizer, this cream incorporates ceramides and various oils. This makes it optimal for those who have dry skin and for those who use retinoids. In addition, this moisturizer has a very special texture, the best I have tried, only for that reason it is already worth trying, but the result it provides is hardly comparable.
You can get the Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer on Paula’s Choice, on FeelUnique, on Niche Beauty and on Amazon.
7. NUXE RÊVE DE MIEL BALM.
Of course, I can’t finish a skincare routine without giving my lips the care they need to stay soft. This Nuxe lip balm, which I have told you about on other occasions, is perfect to apply immediately before sleeping. It is thick, dense and very creamy, so it will take care of our lips correctly and in the mornings they will be great.
You can get the lip balm Nuxe Rêve de Miel on FeelUnique.
