Do you have spots or blemishes? Are you worried about hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation? These common skin concerns may be quite difficult to tackle, although the right skincare routine may be helpful. This night beauty routine will help you prevent spots with some of my favorites from NIOD, The Ordinary and Klairs, let’s see which ones!
Hello! It’s been a long time since I shared a skincare routine, and today I really want to tell you about the products that make up one of my current night routines. At this moment I am alternating two night routines to achieve a more effective result, specifically I am doing this to prevent spots and another to improve expression lines, which I will talk about soon.
Skin spots are a very common (and annoying concern), as I explain on my guide on the topic (in which I also analyze the most common types of skin spots and the way to treat them). However, a proper skincare routine can be of so much help to prevent and improve them.
In this night routine to prevent stains I have incorporated the following products:
- Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil.
- Cerave Hydrating Cleanser.
- NIOD Ethyated L-Ascorbic Acid 30% Network (ELAN).
- Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner.
- The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%.
- Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream.
- Youth to the People Hydrate & Glow Oil.
- Nuxe Rêve de Miel Balm.
1. KLAIRS GENTLE BLACK DEEP CLEANSING OIL.
This is undoubtedly one of my favorite oil-based cleaners, as I told you in its own review (which you can read here).
Choosing a good oil-based cleanser is key to starting your skincare routine on the right foot, as it will help you remove makeup and sunscreen (in addition to other oil-soluble particles that have deposited on your skin), and this product does it wonderfully.
It has a very nice, oily and completely liquid texture, which at first you may need to adapt a little, but once you get used to it you will surely love it. Once you massage it well, you can see how it acquires a white-ish tone, but when you rinse it off, it leaves a fantastic feeling on the face.
You can get the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil on Wishtrend, on Yesstyle and on Amazon.
2. CERAVE HYDRATING CLEANSER.
For some time now Cerave has gained great fame. Its inexpensive and effective products are increasingly popular, something completely deserved (at least, in the case of those I have tried).
This hydrating cleanser is designed for normal to dry skin, although I use it regularly (even though I have combination skin) and it does not increase my oil levels or feels uncomfortable at all. If you are used to using foaming cleaners, you may find it striking that it does not foam, but it is something that you quickly get used to.
The sensations after using it are very positive, it can leave a light layer on the face, but it is something normal and it should not alarm or make you uncomfortable, I assure you that your skin will be perfectly clean.
You can find the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser on Amazon and on Feelunique.
3. NIOD ETHYLATED L-ASCORBIC 30% NETWORK (ELAN).
A few weeks ago I shared with you my review of this serum from NIOD, the most advanced range of DECIEM. Developed with 30% of a derivative of vitamin C, it is designed so that our skin gradually assimilates it, throughout the night, giving us an effective result without irritation.
Although the first sensations when applying this serum can be a bit strange (since it is developed on a base of propanediol, which may seem oily at first), the result it provides is magnificent and that sensation disappears quickly.
As I explain in my guide on skin spots, vitamin C is a great ingredient to prevent their appearance, as it helps reduce melanin production. If you want to start including vitamin C in your beauty routines, I advise you to read my guide on vitamin C and my comparison of vitamin C serums.
You can find the NIOD Ethylated L-Ascorbic 30% Network (ELAN) on DECIEM (recommended), on Amazon, and on FeelUnique.
4. KLAIRS SUPPLE PREPARATION FACIAL TONER.
This Klairs toner, which you can read more about here, has been a regular part of my skincare routines for several months. I have tried it in my morning and night routines, and during its last weeks of use (I have already finished it) it has been part of this skincare routine that I am talking about.
As you already know, the toner gives us a little extra hydration, something that is very positive, since it helps the rest of the products in our routine to be better absorbed.
I liked this toner, although now I have started using its Unscented version to see how it compares to this same one. Soon I will tell you my first impressions, but in the meantime you will surely enjoy this tonic.
You can get the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner on Wishtrend, on Yesstyle and on Amazon.
5. THE ORDINARY RESVERATROL 3% + FERULIC ACID 3%.
In my review of this serum from The Ordinary I told you about its antioxidant properties and how these can enhance the result that vitamin C gives us.
I am in favor of using antioxidants in our morning routines, since they help to potentiate the anti-aging effects of sunscreen. This is because ultraviolet radiation gives rise to the production of a substance (reactive oxygen species or ROS) that damages our collagen and elastin fibers (responsible for keeping our skin firm), fostering the production of wrinkles and expression lines. However, by applying this antioxidant also in our night routines we manage to increase the effectiveness of the previous serum, so they are all advantages.
You can get the serum The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% on DECIEM (recommended), on SkinStore and on FeelUnique.
6. KLAIRS MIDNIGHT BLUE CALMING CREAM.
Although the vitamin C serum that I have included in this beauty routine has not caused me irritation on any occasion, I think it is positive to accompany this routine with a good moisturizer that helps us avoid such irritation and the sensitization of skin.
The anti-inflammatory properties of this moisturizer (of which you can read my complete review here) make it perfect for you if you usually experience redness or a burning sensation. In addition, it provides good hydration to keep your skin well balanced.
You can get the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream on Wishtrend, on Yesstyle, and on Amazon.
7. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE HYDRATE & GLOW OIL.
You know I love moisturizing oils. For me, they are a great way to seal in hydration, enhancing the balance of our skin barrier.
Youth to the People have developed a fantastic oil of which you can read my complete review here. Although I have combination skin and it would be easy to think that the oils are excessive or heavy, this is great, it is very light, so it is suitable for all skin types.
You can get the Youth to the People Hydrate & Glow Oil on Amazon.
8. NUXE RÊVE DE MIEL BALM.
For me a skincare routine is not over until I apply a good lip balm, like this one from Nuxe. By using it every night I manage to keep my lips soft and cared for, so I do not stop using it for a single day.
This lip balm has a texture that I love, it is thick and dense, which may make it not the most suitable in a morning routine, but at night it is perfect, I totally recommend it.
You can get the lip balm Nuxe Rêve de Miel on FeelUnique.
