Hi! Today I want to tell you about a product that has become one of my favorites almost instantly: the Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster. You know I always take my time to try products before sharing a review, since it’s necessary to be patient to see how your skin reacts to an addition, but this product has been a consistently positive incorporation from the very first uses. Do you want to know why? Do you want to know what it is for and if it is what your skin needs? Keep reading!

You can get the Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster on Paula’s Choice, on Niche Beauty and on Amazon.

Whenever we want to include a serum to our skincare routines it’s because, once we have developed a basic routine of cleansing, moisturizing and sun protection, we notice that our skin needs some additional help. That way, we can seek for specific treatments for certain concerns such as spots, acne, wrinkles, etc. Taking that starting point, you can start considering what are your main concerns and adapting your skincare routines to improve them.

If you do not read my blog often, I will inform you of something that may interest you very much: niacinamide (vitamin B3) is a fantastic ingredient to look for in your cosmetics if you are looking to reduce redness or rebalance the oil levels of your skin. If you are one of my regulars, you will already know that niacinamide is one of my favorite ingredients and that incorporating it into your skincare routines can be very beneficial when it comes to improving your acne or irritation.

Some time ago I told you about another niacinamide serum that I also liked a lot at the time because of its effectiveness (in my case, regarding niacinamide, what worries me is to keep pimples at bay), but when they sent me this from Paula’s Choice I got so excited, since I had wonderful references from it and I was finally going to be able to try it.

If we start by looking at the composition of this serum we can see that it incorporates very interesting ingredients, such as niacinamide itself (highly effective at reducing redness and to rebalance oil levels, as I mentioned before), ascorbyl glucoside (a derivative of vitamin C that gives us greater efficiency as an antioxidant), hyaluronic acid and panthenol (which help us improve skin hydration) and licorice extract (with soothing properties). Among its ingredients it does not incorporate perfumes or essential oils. Just by looking at the list of ingredients it seems like a very attractive product, but as I said in my article about the ingredients list, you have to look further to find out what the product is like.

When we open the container and take a few drops of the product we can notice that it has a slightly yellowish hue and it does not present any type of scent. When you get it in your hands you can see that the product is very liquid and light, something great once applied to the face, since it is absorbed quickly and very comfortably. Therefore, if we focus on the texture of the product, for me it is unbeatable.

Although I don’t usually stop to talk much about the packaging of products, I want to point out that I think it is very positive that, despite being a glass container, it is lacquered to prevent ultraviolet radiation from damaging the product.

And is it an effective product? Definitely. For me, this serum is wonderful when it comes to keeping pimples under control. Also, you already know that I have been using retinoids for a while to prevent and improve wrinkles and fine lines, and a serum like this is perfect to improve the absorption of these retinoids.

I am certain that this product has come to my skincare routines to stay, and for now it has become my favorite niacinamide serum. Of course, I will have to test more products to see how they compare to this one, but I am sure I will buy it again.

You can apply this serum interchangeably in your night and morning routines. After facial cleansing and toning, take three or four drops of the product and massage it in gently. Then finish your beauty routine with a good moisturizer and, if it is your morning routine, apply your sunscreen.

You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
