Cabecera The Moisturizer - REVIEW: Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil
Do you have dry skin? Using an oil after your moisturizer can be the key to keep your skin balanced. The Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil has a great blend of ingredients, but I’m sure you’d like to know about its effectiveness, how to use it and where to buy it!

Hi! I recently told you about The Ordinary B Oil, a dense and highly effective moisturizing oil, perfect for the coldest months. However, sometimes we don’t need to use such dense products but our skin still needs that nutrition. It is at this time that products like this Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil from Youth to the People do their best. Do you want to know my opinion about this oil? Keep reading!

An oil is, for me, an indispensable product. To understand its usefulness, we first have to understand how our skin works (you can read more about it in this article). The outermost layer of the skin, the hydrolipidic barrier, which is made up of an oil and water emulsion, is in charge of protecting us against all external agents that try to damage it. A healthy skin will have an adequate balance between the levels of water and oil in that hydrolipidic barrier. Sometimes, however, imbalances occur for different reasons (such as the use of aggressive cleaners, low temperatures, abusing acids –about which you can read more here-).

An oil is the last step in our beauty routine. With it, we help to rebalance our skin barrier, increasing the effectiveness of the moisturizer and other products that we have used before. This way, we seal the moisture and better protect our skin.

Obviously, we must try to find a suitable oil for the needs of our skin. If, for example, you have dry skin or feel that you need more hydration, it is advisable to use a denser oil (like this one from The Ordinary) to give your skin a good dose of nutrients. However, if your skin has a certain oily tendency or you prefer to use lighter products, this Youth to the People Hydrate + Glow Oil has the ideal texture for you. It is a very soft oil, its lightness is perfect to use throughout the year. After using it, my skin feels super nourished and silky, so for me it is, without a doubt, in terms of texture and effectiveness, one of the best oils I have ever tried.

Among the ingredients of this Youth to the People oil we find maqui (very rich in antioxidants, perfect to combat free radicals that damage collagen and elastin fibers), açai (which gives us a good dose of fatty acids), goji (rich in antioxidants and vitamins C and E, which helps us to improve skin tone) and prickly pear (which provides great hydration and helps reduce redness and irritation).

As I was saying, in terms of effectiveness this is, without a doubt, one of my favorite oils. Not only does it leave the skin perfectly hydrated, but it also has a light texture that makes it perfect to use throughout the year, even on your morning routines. If you are looking to start incorporating oils into your beauty routines, this is great one to get used to it. Remember that before starting to use it (as it happens with the other products of your beauty routine) you must do a patch test to make sure that your skin will tolerate it correctly. I would definitely buy it again.

HOW TO USE:

As I mentioned before, an oil should be the last step of your night beauty routines. With it, we help preserve hydration and keep the skin barrier protected. In this case, you will not need more than three or four drops of product, since it spreads a lot. In principle, this product does not present any type of contraindication when using it with other actives.

This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.
