Hello hello! How is your week going? Today I’ll share with you a review that I really wanted to publish, I am finally going to tell you about one of the first products that I have been able to try from Paula’s Choice. Do you want to know my opinion about this Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant? Let’s get to know it a little better!

BRAND: PAULA’S CHOICE
PRODUCT: SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT
SKIN TYPE: ALL, RECOMMENDED FOR OILY SKIN
RECOMMENDED FOR: UNISEX

You can get this Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant on Paula’s Choice, on Niche Beauty, on Amazon and on FeelUnique.

You may recall Paula’s Choice from some of my other articles, such as my comparison of sunscreens, in which I talk about their Extra Care Non-Greasy Sunscreen. Today, I’m going to tell you my opinion about another product from this same brand: their Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, a salicylic acid based exfoliant that’s wonderful for oily and combination skin.

As you will remember from my guide on acids in skincare, salicylic acid (BHA) is a very effective exfoliant with a particularity that differentiates it from other acids, such as glycolic acid (present in this Pixi toner). What characterizes salicylic acid is that it is soluble in oil, so it won’t just give you a superficial exfoliation, but it also cleanses the inside of the pores, making it especially useful for those with oily or combination skin.

And what is this product for? As I mentioned, its main function is exfoliation, thus removing dead cells that accumulate in the most superficial layer of the skin (take a look at this article if you want to learn more about the layers of the skin). With this exfoliation we manage to accelerate cell turnover in our skin, thus improving tone and texture and, indirectly, we improve skin hydration and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. So, if your skin is combination or oily and you have spots that you want to get rid of, this product is for you. Sounds good, right?

Among the ingredients of this Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant we find salicylic acid itself, which I have told you about, in addition to green tea extract, with soothing and antioxidant properties to further improve the effectiveness of the product.

Now that you know it a little better, I am going to tell you my opinion about this exfoliant. First of all, I want to tell you about its texture, it is super light and soft, which makes it a very comfortable product to use. It does not have any characteristic scent, and that’s because it does not contain fragrances or essential oils among its ingredients, something very important if your skin is prone to irritation. When applied, it leaves a soft and silky sensation on the skin.

Regarding results, I have noticed a clear improvement when using this product, especially when it comes to reducing black spots in the T zone and, in general, it is an excellent solution when it comes to reducing texture and improving tone. This is undoubtedly one of the best exfoliants I’ve ever used. I will definitely buy it again, I am delighted with it.

If at the end you feel like using it, don’t forget to patch test before starting to incorporate it into your routines and always use a good sunscreen (here is a comparison in case you still haven’t found your favorite sunscreen).

HOW TO USE:

As with other exfoliants, the right time to apply this product is immediately after cleansing. You should apply it directly with your hands, preferably at night, once or twice a week. There’s no need to wash it off, just massage it gently. Don’t forget to use a good sunscreen daily.

This graphic aims to help you understand in which part of your skincare routine you should use each product.
You don’t need to do all the steps from this routine (but you should always cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen).
Remember it’s key to do a patch test every time you consider adding new products to your skincare routine.
